The office-bearers of MQM USA showed great anger and disgust on such a heinous crime and said that this is the second in continuation, the first being at Data Darbar Lahore. They said that the terrorist elements and religious extremists are pushing the civility of the country to the Stone Age and the nation has already had much of the suicidal bombers. Attacks on Media Offices is an Abhorrent Act
Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; Los Angeles; August 11, 2010: The attack of insurgents in the robes of political workers on media offices is an abhorrent act and no civil society and civilization in the world will approve these kinds of heinous acts. This was said by the Central Organizer and the members of the Central Organizing Committee, MQM USA in a statement issued today to denounce the restriction on media and attacks on GEO and ARY TV by the workers of a specific political party. The office-bearers of MQM USA said that while the political parties and workers forms the mesh of democracy, media is also an indispensable pillar of democracy, and restriction on media tantamount to the demolition of democratic institutions and subjugation of democratic processes. They also said that when the nation is facing such a horrible disaster, worst of its history, the relevant parties are tied up in a non-issue rather than putting emphasis on the rescue, recovery, and the rehabilitation process for the victims of the floods in Pakistan. They demanded of PEMRA and other authorities to take notice of the restrictions on media, and execute a judicial inquiry into the whole mix.
