Central Organizer Addresses all MQM USA Units via
Teleconferencing. MQM USA Launches Local Bodies Election Support
Campaign. Guidelines Issued for the Upcoming Annual Convention in
Chicago. Various Officials are on Organizational Trips to MQM USA
Units. MQM USA has mobilized all its units for the preparation of Annual Convention as well as for providing moral support to Haq Parast candidates in the upcoming Local Bodies elections in Pakistan. MQM North America’s caretaker Dr. Khalid M. Siddiqui is visiting Southern USA, Central Organizer Ibad U. Rehman addressed a teleconference call to all MQM USA units and launched election support campaign as well as issued guidelines and instructions for the upcoming convention in Chicago. Central Organizer is visiting Midwestern units in USA whereas Central Organizing Committee member Ajaz Siddiqi is en-route to western USA. Central Organizing Committee member Shamim Siddiqui and MQM Chicago unit members met with the central organizer Ibad U. Rehman and briefed him on the arrangements of the 10th annual convention. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui met with the MQM members in Texas area and reviewed arrangements made by the units in arranging Mushira Series in those cities. |

mother was seriously ill since last few months and was
recently got admitted to INOVA hospital in Fairfax,
Virginia. Members of the MQM Washington unit along with the central organizer and members of the central organizing committee Ajaz Siddiqi and Sabih Ul Islam also attended the funeral. | QUAID-E-TEHREEK ALTAF HUSSAIN CANCELS ALL ENGAGMENTS IN MOURNING OF THE DEATH OF THE POPE JOHN PAUL II INCLUDING MQM USA'S SEMI-ANNUAL CONVENTION WHICH WAS ONGOING IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA.London- 2 April 2005: Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) cancelled all his engagements in mourning on the death of the Pope John Paul II. The annual convention of MQM USA, which was taking place in Orlando, Florida, was immediately cancelled as soon as the news of the death reached the International Secretariat of the MQM in London in which Mr Hussain was due to address over the telephone from London. The workers and office bearers of the USA were asked to observe one-minute silence in mourning and prayers for the salvation of the soul of the Pope John Paul II was also held. |

The MQM Philadelphia's 3rd Cricket One-Day Championship The third Philadelphia cricket one day championship will be held on March 27, 2005 (Easter Sunday) at 10:00 am. It will be held at the Core Creek Park (901 East Bridgetown Pike; Langhorne, PA 19047). Four units have registered for the competition: Philadelphia (host), New York, New Jersey and Washington. Mr. Sabir Qazi was the father of Asif Qazi, a senior member of MQM currently working for its Detroit unit and Amir Qazi, unit incharge of Windsor, Canada unit. Central Committee Meeting The Caretaker of MQM North America Dr . Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui presided the Teleconference meeting of MQM USA’s Central Organizing Committee .The hour long meeting was attended by members of Central Organizing Committee. Dr. Khalid Maqbool highlighted Mr. Altaf Hussain’s visit to India . He congratulated all on the historic and successful visit of Mr. Altaf Hussain to India. The overall organizational situation came into the discussion as members of Central Committee briefed him about the progress being made to improve the organizational work. KKF Campaign in USA came under discussion and the final report from more then 12 Units was presented by Tayyab Hussain ( Incharge KKF USA ). Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui highlighted the importance of Muttahida Quomi Fund ( MQF ) and asked Central Organizing Committee Members to re-launch this campaign in their respective units for the desired results. Finally , the guidelines were given by Dr. Khalid Maqbool to Central Organizing Committee USA for strengthening the overall organizational structure. |

Houston Unit’s, senior activist and supporter Mr. Akram Hussain
on his sad demise in Houston and prays to Almighty Allah to give
strength to them to bear this great loss. Late Akram Hussain was
settled in Houston for thirty years with his family. He passed
away due to heart failure, his death brought sadness between
everyone especially in Houston since he played a very active
role in MQM USA’s 9th annual convention that was held in Houston
early August. Moreover, MQM USA Houston Unit committee and
advisory committee along with workers attended the Namaz E
Janaza and funeral of Late Akram Hussain. Local Unit will hold a
Fatehya on September 3rd for Esaal E Sawab. |
