July 3, 2005 - Gehwarah-e-Adab Atlanta Georgia organized a
glamorous event, the second Indo-Pak Yakjahtee Mushairah at the Global Mall
Hall, Jimmy Carter Blvd. The event, with over 350 people in attendance was
presided over by Mr. Shamail Nabi, ex-minister of Bihar India. Mushairah
surpassed all expectations.
The mushairah featured world-renowned poets from Pakistan and India such as,
Professor Wasim Barelvi, Dr. Rahat Indori, Dr. Nasim Nikhat, Professor Jazib
Qureshi, and Mr. Mansoor Usmani. The mushairah also featured local poets
from the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. People from all walks of life of India
and Pakistan attended this event. The admission was free and Gehwarah-e-Adab
organizers also provided refreshments. Every one appreciated that
Gahwarah-e-Adab promoted not only the Urdu literature but also promoted
bilateral ties between India and Pakistan. The poets mentioned that this was one
of the best mushairahs.
Adnan Naqvi (Ex. member central organizing committee), Mustafa Sidiqui
(In-charge G-Adab Atlanta), Asim Mirza (Joint Incharge G-Adab Atlanta), Javaid
Rahim (Nigran G-Adab Georgia), and all organizers thanked all the audience,
