activities of MQM North America for the flood
victims in Pakistan has already started and is
in full force under the supervision of the
Patron MQM USA & MQM Canada Ibad Rehman. The
office bearers of the central committees of MQM
USA and Canada, office-bearers, workers, and
supporters of 18 Chapters of MQM USA and 8
Chapters of MQM Canada along with their
subsidiaries are active and fully engaged in the

According to an announcement by Sun Charity USA made
out today, the Sun Charity USA and UNHCR have signed
a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) to cooperate
with each other with their resources in the relief
activities for the flood victims in Pakistan. The
MOU was signed by the Executive Director Sun Charity
USA Ibad Rehman and the Executive Director UNHCR
Marc Breslau.

Sun Charity USA South Florida Chapter Holds Fundraising

South Florida, Sunday August 15,
2010: MQMUSA's South Florida chapter organized their
annual Iftar dinner at "Mehfil" restaurant which was
attended by a large gathering. Due to the recent
devastating flood disaster in Pakistan the Iftar
dinner became a fund raiser where local chapter made
an urgent appeal to the South Florida public to
contribute for their brothers and sisters who are
now the flood victims.

fundraising event on the last weekend in a local hotel
that was attended by the office bearers, workers and

The main feature of the event was the presence of the
Minister for Youth Affairs Sindh Faisal Sabzwari and the

New York; August 27, 2010: The first consignment of
emergency relief goods collected by Sun Charity USA for
the flood victims of Pakistan has left for Pakistan in a
special PIA flight from John F Kennedy Airport, New
York. This consignment that included two grand-sized
truckloads of 304 cartons of relief goods, was handed
over to PIA officials in New York at JFK Airport by the
Sun Charity USA representatives Gul Mohammad, Ali Kulli,
and dozens of Sun Charity USA volunteers.

a fundraising telethon on ARY digital with the
cooperation of Pakistan Club USA, Pakistan American
Business Association and several other organizations on
Saturday August 21, 2010. The telethon lasted for 3
hours from 4 pm to 7 pm and remained jam-packed with the
calls of the donors. The telethon was hosted by famous
former PTV newscaster and currently Voice of America’s

for an early and complete recovery of Musa Naqvi, son of
Dawar Naqvi of MQM Los Angeles, and nephew of a senior
MQM worker Adnan Naqvi. The infant Musa Naqvi has been
admitted to the hospital for a severe health ailment.
The leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain and the members of
the Coordination Committee MQM have also prayed for the
