MQM Donates 10 Million Worth Of Relief Goods to IDPs.
Daily Times; Karachi; May 12, 2009: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) has announced that on the directives of MQM chief Altaf Hussain, KKF has sent relief goods and medicines worth more than 10 million rupees for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Swat, Buner and Shangla. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, MQM Rabita Committee member and Provincial Minister Shoaib Bukhari said that the KKF relief operation for the IDPs will continued till they return to their homes and restart a normal life. Provincial Minister Adil Siddiqui, MQM Rabita Committee member Saleem Tajik, Shakir Ali, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan and others were also present on the occasion. Bukhari said that the MQM has handed over the relief goods and donations to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) that has provided the relief goods to the affected people. He appealed to the people and philanthropists to come forward to support the IDPs. Answering a question about the operation of the Pakistan Army against the terrorists in Swat, he said that MQM welcomed the operation in Swat, Malakand, Buner and Shangla. staff report
