MQM Is Not Going To Punjab for Election Achievements; It Is Going To Change the Mindset

Punjab Convention Will Increase Awareness in the Common Man of Punjab about His Rights

Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; New York; October 24, 2009: Election achievements have never been the goal for MQM and MQM is not going to Punjab for these election achievements; however, MQM wants to change the mindset and increase the awareness in the common man of the country for his/her basic right and that is why MQM is going to Punjab. This was said by the former federal minister and the Patron-in-Chief, MQM North America Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in a meeting hosted by MQM New York with the local media on Friday the last on Punjab Convention. While the meeting was attended by the newspaper owners, editors, and reporters in a large number, this was also attended by the office bearers of MQM New York, members of the Advisory Committee MQM New York, members of the Central Organizing Committee, and the Incharge Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui further said that MQM is the only representative of the oppressed 98% stratum of the country and MQM will never leave the major portion of these oppressed alone which live in Punjab. He said that the common man of Punjab is also a victim of feudalism and autocracy of the feudal lords like the common man of elsewhere in the country. Answering to a question Dr. Siddiqui said that MQM is not looking for an overnight change but the persistence and dedication of MQM workers in Punjab will eventually change the mindset and the political awareness in the people of Punjab. The Patron-in-Chief of MQM North America added that MQM believes in the fact that actions speak louder than the words and this time MQM is taking its resume to Punjab which is full of actions taken for the development of the places where MQM has been for a while. He insisted on the media that should help MQM in spreading its message in Punjab. At the end of the meeting, the office bearers of MQM New York and MQM USA thanked the media personnel present in the meeting for attending the meeting and listening to MQM’s views on its era of politics in Punjab.
