First Consignment of Sun Charity Relief Goods for Flood Victims Left for Pakistan in a Special Flight

Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; New York; August 27, 2010: The first consignment of emergency relief goods collected by Sun Charity USA for the flood victims of Pakistan has left for Pakistan in a special PIA flight from John F Kennedy Airport, New York. This consignment that included two grand-sized truckloads of 304 cartons of relief goods, was handed over to PIA officials in New York at JFK Airport by the Sun Charity USA representatives Gul Mohammad, Ali Kulli, and dozens of Sun Charity USA volunteers. This first shipment of relief goods include life saving medicines, new clothes, new shoes, dry food, and non-perishable ready-to-eat food items, which will be immediately sent to Multan after reaching Pakistan where the volunteers of Sun Charity and Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation will distribute these among the flood victims of Multan and its around. The volunteers of sun Charity are collecting cash donations and relief good throughout USA in their outreach efforts to the Pakistani and international community in USA. The collected goods are transported from all over the USA by the volunteers of Sun Charity USA to the centers established in Chicago and New York from where the shipments are sent to Pakistan through special flights arranged by Sun Charity USA. According to the Sun Charity USA spokesman, the cash donations will be used to purchase emergency relief goods locally and in Pakistan and China that includes the purchases of temporary shelter tents from China for the flood victims to save them from the upcoming winter. The Sun Charity USA has recently held a fundraising telethon on a national TV channel that was attended by the famous film, radio, and TV artists from Pakistan and the elites of Pakistani community who appealed to the Pakistani and international community in USA to come up generously for the help of the flood victims, and the people had donated generously showing their firm confidence in the integrity of Sun Charity. In the same series another telethon will be held shortly in the same manner that will be attended by the famous artists from Pakistan and the elites of the Pakistani community in USA and they will once again appeal to he community to show their generosity for the help of the flood victims.
