MQM Atlanta Chapter Hosts Iftar Dinner

"Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; Atlanta; September 12, 2009: MQM Atlanta Chapter's yearly Iftar Dinner was held at Lal Qila Restaurant last week in collaboration with the Sun Charity and KKF Atlanta. The dinner was attended by the office bearers and workers of MQM Atlanta, Sun Charity Atlanta, KKF Atlanta, Youth Wing Atlanta, and Gahwarah-e-Adab Atlanta, as well as members of Pakistani community from all walks of life in a large number. The feature of the event was the presence of the Chief Justice Supreme Court Georgia Carol W. Hunestien who honored the Pakistani community as the Chief Guest of the evening.The program started after Namaz-e-Magrib with beautiful recitation of Quran by Aatif Farrukh. Incharge Gahwar-e-Adab Atlanta Chapter opend the evening by welcoming the guests. Women Wing presented a detailed history and background of MQM and its struggle which was appreciated by The Honorable Judge. The Joint Incharge of the host Chapter explained, in his address, the current activities of MQM USA. Incharge host Chapter, in his address, elaborated on the current political changes in Pakistan. He explained how the Jinnahpur conspiracy was fabricated and how one whole generation faced the genocide. He paid tribute to all the martayrs of MQM who lost their lives in the struggle. He also explained the activities of SUN Charity and Saathi TV (which is transmitting the test transmission currently). Honorable Chief Justice Ms. Carol W Hunestien, in her brief address, thanked MQM and said "I am honored to be here". Atlanta Chapter Committee presented Ms. Carol a "Shawl" and a bouquet. MQM Atlanta Chapter Women Wing handled the kiosk for SUN Charity to raise the Zakat and Fitra. MQM Atlanta Chapter Youth Wing played an important role in the reception committee and received the guests of the dinner in a dignified manner. The evening ended at dinner.
