A 7 MEMBER ADVISORY COMMITTEE FORMED IN ATLANTA
ATLANTA: Friday December 7, 2007, a seven member advisory committee is formed in
Atlanta; it was stated by Mr. Nadeem Siddiqui, unit In-charge MQM Atlanta, in a
press release issued to the media this evening. The names of the committee
members are as follows: Mr. Naeem Alvi, Mr. Ishrat Siddiqui, Mr. Aslam Khan, Mr.
Sifte Farooqui, Mr. Islam Ahmed, and Mr. Masih Khan. The goal of
this intellectual, knowledgeable, and literary group will be to formulate
individual ideas into meaningful suggestions. The committee will also work as a
contact group in between Pakistani community and American opinion leaders. It
was decided that the committee will meet on monthly basis to hold discussions
and collect ideas for the betterment of Pakistan in general and Karachi and
Hyderabad in particular. It was observed that all members of the committee, who
are professionals and successful in their own fields, had similar point-of-view
about the present situation in Pakistan; and supportive of the stand taken by
MQM especially on the role of the media, judiciary, and towards the other
political parties. The committee also showed confidence in the MQM ability to
win elections with big margin and was hopeful that this time MQM will also win
elections from other provinces of Pakistan. The group also appreciated the
performance of the City Nazim Mr. Mustafa Kamal and Governer of Sindh Dr.
Ishrat-ul-Ibad. On this occasion Mr. Saqib Mohiuddin, joint unit in-charge, Mr.
Haseeb Khan, member unit committee, Mr. Aslam Pervez, In-charge Gehwara-e-Adab,
Mr. Mohiuddin and Furukh Kahn were also present.
Atlanta Unit observed the Youm-e-Shohda and offered dua for martyrs and Mohtrama
Khursheed Begum, mother of Mr. Altaf Hussain and for the long life of Altaf
Hussain Bhai.
