Karachi, one of the most populous cities on this planet of
earth, also faces the problem of parking like its all other peers.
With the increase in population on the daily basis, and an ever
increasing traffic, finding parking in the major business and
shopping district has been a nightmare. The City Government of
Karachi, which is focusing on the uplift of Karachi with an enhanced
infrastructure for this huge metropolis, is also trying to improve
the public services, facilities, and amenities for the citizens of
the city which also include the focus on this problem of parking
especially in the major business and shopping districts. The first
step in this direction has already been taken and the City
Government of Karachi has opened a state-of-the-art Parking Plaza,
Saddar Parking Plaza, in the heart of the city, the area of Saddar,
where parking was said to be as difficult as bringing the stars from
the sky. This parking plaza with latest facilities and equipped with
latest equipments is the first ever parking plaza in Pakistan. This
parking Plaza which has multiple entrances in the plaza with stop
signs, large convex mirrors, and modern fire fighting system, is
capable of holding 800 cars and 300 motorcycles at a time. The cars
may be parked on different floors through the ramps and can also be
lifted up through the modern lifting mechanisms. While this facility
can be used on permanent membership basis by the business owners in
the Saddar district, it can also be used by casual shoppers through
computerized gates opened through the tickets. This parking facility
will also have modern vehicle servicing spaces inside the facility.
At his visit to the Saddar Parking Plaza the City Nazim Syed Mustafa
Kamal said that MQM believes in action and the actions are louder
than the words. He said that the City Government of Karachi has the
motto of “Service in Politics” which has been assigned to it by
Quaid e Tehreek Altaf Hussain. He also said that the City Government
of Karachi is determined to bring the city of Karachi to the level
of other modern cities of the world. |
