MQM USA Unanimously Approve Resolution Against Quaid’s Return to Pakistan |
| Washington DC, November 3, 2002 |
| In a hurriedly called telephonic conference
meeting, the Central Organizer Ibad Ur Rehman, members of the central
organizing committee Ahsan Ullah Khan, Ajaz Siddiqui, Shamim Siddiqui and
Waseem Khan have categorically rejects any possibility of Quaid-e-Tehrik
return to Pakistan. The meeting was called after learning of Quaid-e-Tehrik
Altaf Hussain’s decision to return to Pakistan. Central Organizer moved a resolution as under: “We the Central Organizing Committee members of the Muttahida Quami Movement United States of America, with all due respect to our Quaid, do hereby refuse to accept his decision of returning to Pakistan. We are of the firm opinion that though Quaid-e-Tehrik Altaf Hussain have all the rights to make any decision necessary for the betterment of his nation and workers, however, we also feel that making such an important decision about his life could only be decided by the Rabita Committee, the Organizing committee, the Sectors and Units, the elders, women, men and children of the Mohajir Nation. Therefore, we urge our great leader to give us a chance and allow us some time to ask for a consensus throughout the world and until then Quaud-e-Tehrik must put his decision on hold”. The resolution was passed unanimously. A detailed statement would be issued in due course of time and after the consultation with several wings of the MQM throughout the world. |
