MQM USA’s Delegation Led by Farhat Khan
Meets with Governor Ishratul Ebad in Karachi. Tipu Sultan University of
Management Sciences (TSUMS) Discussed.(Dec-24-03)
A MQM USA’s high level delegation led by central organizing committee member Mr.
Farhat khan has met with Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan to discuss and
finalize a university project in Karachi, launched by MQM USA in collaboration
with the Wayne State University of Detroit, Michigan.
Other members of the delegation included Saeed Rizvi from Michigan and Jamil
Qazi from South Florida units. MQM’s Parliamentary leader in the National
Assembly Dr. Farooq Sattar was also present at the meeting. Mr. Farhat Khan and
his team members explained to the Governor the details of this project, funding,
resources, academia, location and course description.
Gov. Ebad praised the efforts made by MQM USA to inculcate higher education in
the province of Sindh. He instructed his staff to help effectively launch this
university in Karachi and also instructed his staff to look for a location
easily accessible to the common class of students. Gov. Ebad thanked the board
of directors of TSUMS for choosing Province of Sindh for this project.
MQM USA briefed Gov. Ebad that this project is being jointly launched with the
help of Wayne State University, Khidmat-e-Khalq Committee USA and MQM USA. This
university will offer bachelor and Master level education in engineering
management sciences and on non-political & non-profit basis. An understanding
has been reached for proposed curriculum and teaching staff. A board of
directors will soon be formed comprising of directors from USA, Pakistan and
United Kingdom.
MQM’s parliamentary leader in National Assembly Dr. Farooq Sattar and MQM USA’s
Central Organizer Ibad U. Rehman, in their separate statements congratulated MQM
USA and thanked Governor Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan for his support to this mega
project.
