Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; Los Angeles; September 21, 2010: MQM USA has cancelled its upcoming 2010 Semi-Annual Convention due to the assassination and martyrdom of the former convener of MQM Dr. Imran Farooq, and all the preparations for the semi-annual convention have been stopped with immediate effect. The announcement was made by the Central Organizer MQM USA Kamal Zafar in a statement issued today. The convention was scheduled to be held in the third week of the month of October this year at Detroit. The Central Organizer said in his statement that MQM USA and its workers have also been affected substantially, both mentally and spritually by the incident of the assassination of Dr. Imran Farooq and the decision of the cancellation of the Semi-Annual Convention MQM USA 2010 has been taken in the wake of the mourning. Dr. Imran Farooq was assassinated by unknown assailants on the eve of September 16, 2010 in front of his residence in London.
