Election Cell in Washington DC (Aug-22-05)

| August 18th, 2005 – The MQM USA Washington DC
unit setup an election cell to monitor the 2005 Local Body Elections for the
Haq Parast Group. The election cell provided up-to-the minute reports from
all over Pakistan, particularly the Sindh province. The Washington DC unit
was in direct contact with MQM headquarters in Karachi and the MQM
International Secretariat in London to monitor the proceedings. The
Washington DC unit used media, electronic media, print media, and other
reliable sources on the ground in Pakistan to monitor and verify the
results. The latest results show that the Haq Parast Group has swept Karachi
City, and has won numerous Union Councils throughout Pakistan. The MQM
Washington DC unit would like to congratulate the people of Sindh, the Sindh
Governor, and the Sindh government for carrying out the election process in
a peaceful manner. The Washington DC unit would also like to extend it’s
heartiest congratulations to MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain bhai and
to all the MQM / Haq Parast workers and supporters throughout the world for
their epic victory.
