Washington DC emerges out as a trendsetter it celebrated Quaid-e-Tehreek
Altaf Hussain’s birthday in the auditorium of the Northern Virginia
Community College on Thursday, September 17, 2009 which marks his 56th
birthday. This was the first time when the birthday was celebrated in United
States on such a large scale which was also attended by Governor of Sindh
Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad and City Nazim of Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal. The
jam-packed Auditorium of Northern Virginia Community College was a sample of
cross section from Pakistani community including doctors, engineers,
attorneys, professors, poets, columnists, writers, intellectuals,
businessmen, politicians, journalists, newspapers and electronic media
personnel’s, women and children from the greater metro area of Washington
DC, Virginia, Baltimore, Richmond and other adjacent areas. The office
bearers and workers of MQM Washington DC, and the office bearers of MQM USA
from all over the country also attended this magnificent event. The program
started with national anthem of Pakistan followed by recitation from Holy
Quran and then by the welcoming speeches from the office bearers of MQM USA,
and finally by the speeches from the special guests,Governor of Sindh and
City Nazim of Karachi. Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad and Mayor of
Karachi Syed Mustafa Kamal said in their addresses that MQM is the final
hope and the Ray of light for the apparently dark future of Pakistan. They
said that MQM has proved the honest leadership and statesmanship, and has
shown the “Service in Politics”. They added that whatever they have done for
Karachi and Sindh is only because of the training they have received from
Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain and are just following his philosophy of
Realism and Practicalism. They congratulated the founder and leader of MQM
Mr. Altaf Hussain, the workers of MQM all around the globe, and the nation
on his 56th birthday. The celebrations culminated at the cake cutting
ceremony which was performed by Governor Sindh and Mayor Karachi together.
