Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; Washington DC; December 20, 2010: The selflessness is the uniqueness of the worker of MQM; the movements cannot prosper with the workers who don't know their aims and goals; the worker of MQM has the responsibility of conveying the unique message and philosophy of MQM to the common men. This was said by the Patron-in-Chief, MQM North America, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at a Tarbiyati Nishist (Training Session) held by MQM Washington DC for the workers of MQM Washington DC the other day. While the session was attended by the office-bearers and workers of MQM Washington DC, and the office-bearers and workers of the auxiliary wings of MQM USA operative in Washington DC, the session was also attended by the member Central Organizing Committee MQM USA Tauseef Yaar Khan and the Patron MQM North America Ibad Rehman. The session was opened by Tauseef Yaar Khan with a question as to why the workers needed a training session. Before the answer to the question by the main speaker of the session Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Patron further extended the scope of the question by saying that what actually a training session is. He also spoke about the methodology of the working of MQM, internal and external interaction of the workers of MQM, and the discipline of the party. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said while answering to the initial question and further elaboration by the Patron that the working of MQM and even these training sessions are in the morphological processes. However, he said that the first and foremost responsibility of the worker of MQM is the appreciation of the aims and goals of the movement. The worker must know as to why he or she is working in MQM and this can only be accomplished if they know the purpose of the movement, the philosophy of MQM, and know very well the path laid by the leader of the movement. He further said that the worker of MQM may also learn about his responsibilities by studying the lives of the forerunners of MQM and the life of the former convener of MQM Dr. Imran Farooq offers a guideline for every worker of MQM and for every movement. He said the uniqueness in the attitude of the worker of MQM is that the worker of MQM is devoid of any selfishness, and this attitude contests the prevailing social norms where everybody thinks about his or her interest. He added that the movements cannot be run without negating the self and personal ego, and the worker of MQM thinks about the collective issues and goals. He also said that the worker of MQM is bound to respect others; however, the worker must not expect the same in return. He said that the worker of MQM is the messenger of the philosophy of MQM and this must be borne in mind that the message is always important than the messenger, and this is the most important juncture in the working of a movement that when a messenger starts thinking that the messenger is more important than the message and that is the point where the movements get setbacks. He further added that a good worker of MQM is well aware of his or her jurisdiction and does not encroach in the jurisdiction of others. And with the same token, he added, a good worker always follows the chain of command. He also said that this is not only the chain of command that is the integral part for the success of the movement, the faith of the worker in the leadership is also a galvanizing factor. He urged on the workers of MQM USA to observe discipline of the organization as the discipline is the only unit that builds the building of the organization.
