An Evening with Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussein in Houston (Jan-11-06)

MQM Houston Unit hosted an evening with State Minister for Religious Affairs and Anchor of renowned GEO TV show “Aalim-on-Line” Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussein in Stafford Convention and Performing Arts Centre. The event was attended by MQM caretaker North America Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui Bhai and member of the Central Committee Moid Farooqi Bhai, Consul General of Pakistan Mr. G. R. Baloch, Houston City Council Member Mr. M. J. Khan and over 700 Houstonians.

The program was started by recitation of verses from the holy Qur’an by Brother Mohammed Khalil Jilani. Miss. Javeria Siddiqui, in-charge of Houston Unit’s Youth wing MC’d the first portion of the event. Unit in-charge Mohammed Zaheer Bhai welcomed the guests and presented the accomplishment of MQM Houston Unit’s during the year 2005. Certificate of honors were presented to the MQM Houston Unit, Khidmat-e-Khalq Committee and honorable guest Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussein from the office of Congressman Al Green. City of Houston Councilman Mr. M. J. Khan presented honorary Citizenship to guest of honor Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussein on behalf of Houston’s Mayor.

The second part of the event, which was followed by a lavish dinner, was MC’d by famous Pakistan TV artist and all time comedian Mr. Ayaz Khan. The event, which was primarily focused on fund raising for the earth quake victims and information regarding rehabilitation efforts, post earth quake.Later Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussein Bhai addressed the audience and informed them the efforts being made by MQM in the rebuilding efforts and Quid-e-Tahreek’s vision of rehabilitation during phase-II. He also took questions and answers the issues on the spot. At the end Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussein Bhai recites three Na’ats.

The program was started at 8.30 PM and ended at 1.40 AM. Audience were fascinated by the defining address of the Chief Guest Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain and was charmed for hours by the performance of Ayaz Khan.
