MQM Houston has organized a remarkable public gathering in the honor of Dr.
Farooq Sattar, parliamentary leader of MQM in the National Assembly of Pakistan.
The gathering was well attended by Congresswomen Sheila Jackson of Texas,
Councilman Masroor J. Khan, Councilman Ronald Green, Democratic candidate for
congress Al-Green, Acting Central Organizer of MQM USA Ajaz Siddiqui, members of
central committee Shamim Siddiqui, Farhat Khan, unit incharge Houston Syed Najmi,
President PAGH Ghulam Bombaywala and others.
Dr. Farooq Sattar thanked community in Houston for supporting Masroor Khan in
his city council elections. He also detailed out a series of political
activities in Pakistan in last 55 years. According to Dr. Sattar our country
moves back to 1947 every ten years. He says Liaquat Ali Khan to Abdul
Qadeer Khan each incident takes us to point of start. He says in last 55
years the religion has been used as a political tool instead of a guidance
light. It is only the philosophy of liberalism introduced and advocated by
Quaid-e-Tehrik Altaf Hussain, which is now flourishing in the United States with
the hard efforts of MQM workers. He also thanked Congresswomen Sheila Jackson
for helping community with their immigration matters.
Congresswomen Sheila Jackson, in her speech promised Pakistani community that
she’ll continue working closely with MQM in running a immigration laws reform
campaign both in Houston and at Washington DC level. She thanked Dr. Farooq
Sattar for coming to Houston. “I’m very much impressed by MQM’s organizational
structure and dedicated workers, they are an integral part of local politics
now” she concluded.
