Award Ceremony Sets a New trend for Poets.(June-28-2004)
Gahwara-e-Adab has touched a whole new level of organizing mushiras in
America when it has put up the show in Houston this weekend. Houstonians
responded with warmth and enthusiasm by attending in large number. According to
the Holiday Inn in the heart of the city of Houston, over seven hundred people
attended this mushira. MQM North America’s caretaker Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui
and the Central Organizer Ibad U. Rehman also attended and appreciated the
performances. MQM Houston unit awarded poets and the guests of honors with
souvenirs and awards. Banquest hall at the Holiday inn was beautifully decorated
by the local unit and it was showing an image of Indo-Pak culture. According to
the guest poets, this Mushira was undoubtedly the biggest one out side their
home countries. MQM USA congratulates Gahwara-e-Adab, Houston unit and all
the volunteers for holding this historical mushira.
