MQM Houston Presents MQM’s Point Of View On NAR, And Talibanization In Pakistan To Congressman Al Green |

| Houston; April 15, 2009: Consulate of Pakistan, Houston
arranged a meeting of Pakistani-American community with Congressman Al
Green on April 14th 2009 to discuss the current situation prevailing in
Pakistan and how U.S.A. may assist Pakistan to bolster its capacity to
fight the terrorism and activities of Talibans in Pakistan. MQM Houston
was also invited whereas the other political leaders from the Pakistani
community were invited too. Question Answer session with the Congressman was moderated by the Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Aqil Nadeem. MQM Houston besides raising severe concerns on Talibanization in Pakistan also highlighted the rejection of Nizam-e-Adl (NAR) by MQM. Congressman Al Green was reaffirmed that the implementation of NAR was not only unconstitutional but also negates peoples mandate from last elections. Congressman Al Green listened to the over-all concerns of MQM presented by MQM Houston and assured of his full support in the House and reassured that as and when the matter comes up for discussion, the congressman will present on the floor with reference to the Lugar-Kerry Bill. |
