Karachi Club LA Converge the Community on Haleem

Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; Los Angeles; December 27, 2009: Karachi Club Los Angeles hosted Annual Haleem to offer homage to the martyrdom of Shaheed e Karbala, Imam Hussein and his family. Garden Grove Park – a familiar place, once again became a favorite GPS entry for motoring public as they head for the enticing Haleem in town. Continuing with its tradition of 12 years the members of Karachi Club hosted Haleem cook out. A crowd of about 1,500 representing all walks of life in the Pakistani community showed up to support the event that has become hallmark of Karachi Club Los Angeles. Karachi Club’s In-charge Samin Faruqi along with Wasim Zaidi, greeted the guests with their committed and energetic team of Masood Khan, Mrs. Rubina Faruqi, Asif Farooqui, Abdullah Jamil, Ishtiaq Hasan, Syed Ahsan and Abdul Lateef.

Addressing to the guests Samin Faruqi, announced transformation of Karachi Club into Pakistan Club USA, Los Angeles. Outlining vision of the organization, he invited every Pakistani to join hands with the club in servicing the community and asked audience to come forward with their suggestions to enhance its goals of community outreach. The Day of Atonement invited people from different walks of life. There were several prominent persons who graced the occasion. Present in attendance among other prominent community leaders was Mr. Kamal Zafar, Central Organizer MQMUSA. Hamid Malik, COPAA Board member and Syed Ashraf Ali, representing Pakistan American Arts Council. Karachi Club, a twin organization with LA unit has organized several functions over the years but the haleem cookout in the month of Muharram is the most popular event that is eagerly awaited throughout the year. The delicious dish is served in the best Pakistani traditions to the delight of the community members. Pakistan Club USA, Los Angeles thanked members of the community for their support and dedication.
