Los Angeles unit gears
up for 2008

........and so the 2008 activities commenced; the Los Angeles unit held it's
first meeting of the new year.
The highlight of
the session was fateha reciting on the sad demise of ex-Prime Minister
Benazir Bhutto in an unfortunate explosion in Pakistan. The group offered
tributes to the soul of Muttahida, also known as, martyrs of MQM.
Annual Haleem was next on
the agenda. Inspired with the same vigor as in last twelve years the Haleem
nazrana
to commemorate the
martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Karbala Hazrat Imam Hussein and his family in the
holy month of Muharram.
The Garden Grove Park, a familiar place which serves as the venue once again
will be abuzz for the community.
Semi-Annual conference in San Francisco was part of the discussion and a
consensus was formed to gear up for the San Francisco reunion as a team.
Unit-in-charge Wasim Zaidi headed the meeting which was duly participated by
Samin Faruqi, Asif Farooqui, Ikram Shah, Khalid Bhai, Arif Abbas, and Masood
Khan.
Member central organizing committe, Kamal Zafar Bhai who has always
patronised unit meetings, wished everyone a healthy, prosperous and peaceful
New Year.
