Gahwara-e-Adab Florida, organized a biggest Mushaira in the history of North America (July-02-2004)

On June 18th, 2004 at the Sophia’s Ballroom, Florida
Ft. Lauderdale: As part of the Pakistani & Indian Yekjehti Mushaira (Unity poetic), Gahwara-e-Adab Florida, an Adabi organization work under MQM, organized a beautiful, historic and one of the biggest Mushira event in the history of North America at Sophia Ballroom in Florida on the evening of June 18th, 2004. The purpose of this program was to promote Urdu and its literature. The world renowned Urdu poets from Pakistan Mr. Himayat Ali Shayer, from India Mr. Dr Rahat Indori, Mr. Manzar Bhopali, Mr. Anwar Jalalpuri, from England Mr. Dr. Shafi Kausar, from Atalnta-Georgia Dr. Hameed, along with local well known poets from Florida, intellectuals, business communities mammoth gathering of the public that included women, youths and elders from Pakistani and Indian community attended the Mushira.
Gahwara-e-Adab, Florida’s in charge Raza Jaffery welcome the audiences and describe the purpose of the program. The Care taker of Gahwara-e-adab, Florida Kamran Haider thanked the participants, dignitaries, sponsors and supporters including; Amin Markatia, Raza Jaffery, Ali Jaffery, Afzal Qureshi, Farooq Bhai, Athar Abbas, Ashraf Naviwalla, Shahid Barry, Mateen Mustafa, Liaquat Ali, Saeed Jaffery, Victor bhai, Zafeer Siddiqui, Micheal Karim, Amin Naviwalla, Sohail Rana, Muzamil bhai, member Bazm-e-Adab Waseem Qadri, Tasneem Akhtar, Masood Akhtar from Urdu Times, Ajay Sinha from Indian Radio, Zia Shahid from Pakistani Radio, Rakesh from sofia Ballroom and ex-MPA S. Mohiuddin. He also appreciated Farhat Khan member of Central Organizing committee of MQM USA, all the workers of Gahwara-e-Adab and MQM for their dedication and hard work.
All the audiences were enthralled with the exciting recitations from poets. The jam-packed hall was in a fine mood to enjoy the evening and every line that the poets recited received wide applaud. Poets impressed with their humorous and normal pieces, which went well with the mood of the gathering. It was stated that during the freedom struggle the poets and writers played the crucial role leading to attainment of independence on Pakistan and India. The poets took up different aspects of life mirroring the prevailing social, political and cultural situation. The human emotions were also depicted. The poets at this Mushira also took up patriotic fervor. Each poet drew high public applaud from those who were present at the mushira. The atmosphere in the hall was friendly, informal and cordial.
At the end of program Member organizing committee of MQM USA Mr. Farhat Khan thanked to all Poets, community leaders, supporters and all the participants of Pakistani and Indian communities for their time to attend this historic Pakistani & Indian Unity Mushira. He congratulates Caretaker of Gahwara-adab Kamran Haider and his team for arranging a historic gathering.
Living up to the traditional Gahwara-e-Adab’s custom to appreciate and thanked the Poets, Farhat Khan and Kamran Haider presented “Memorable Shields” to all the poets through the hands of community supports, amidst loud applause. The efforts put up by Gahwara-e-Adab, Florida were well appreciated in the south Florida.
MQM USA's Caretaker Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Central Organizer Ibad Ur Rehman and the central organizing committee have commended and admired all those who had participated in the organizing of this historic and biggest Mushira gathering. They specially praised the efforts of Unit In charge Kamran Haider and his Committee, workers and all others who had participated in this historic program of Yukjehti Mushira.
