MQM is Not Going to Punjab for Election Results: It is Going to Give Awareness to the People of Punjab

Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; New York; November 08, 2009: The democracy and the democratic values can never thrive in the presence of feudal system which is the prevailing system of the country. MQM is not going to Punjab for the election results; it is going to promote awareness in the people of Punjab. This was said by Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui at a corner meeting in New York arranged by a prominent businessman and social figure of the Pakistani community in New York Mr. Abid Rafay on Punjab Convention at his business place last Saturday. This corner meeting was attended by people representing all nationalities of Pakistan which included Kashif Siddiqui, Tahir Mian, Zahid Syed, Tauqeer Khan, Khalid Chaudhry, Sultan Cheema, Hanif Muhammad, Syed Ishrat Zaidi, Syed Wasim, Kamran Sajjad, Aslam Baig, Huma Mumtaz, Shahzad Haq, Adnan Haris, Syed Asif Nawaz, and office bearers of MQM New York and MQM USA. Answering to the questions Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said MQM has rebelled to the conventional politics of Pakistan and whatever has happened and MQM been treated in the last 25 years is exactly what has happened to all other rebellions to the conventional practices. However MQM is not only determined on its cause it is travelling further in the direction of the goal it has. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said if the leaders of political parties of Pakistan are sincere to the nation they must promise to the nation like the leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain that not only them but their kith and kin will also not contest elections, and they will not accept official posts. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui further said that MQM is the representative of middle class, lower middle class, down trodden, and oppressed strata of the country and when most part of these strata live in Punjab MQM cannot leave them alone. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said answering to a question that this should remain clear in every mind that MQM is not going to Punjab for election results; it is going to promote awareness in the people of Punjab through which the people of Punjab will be able to change the system in order to better their lives. To a question that what will be the preferences of MQM after coming into office, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that MQM has only one preference and that has always been there and will remain there and that is the elimination of the old, obsolete, and orthodox feudal system. At the end of the meeting Mr. Abid Rafay thanked Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and the participants of the meeting on attending the meeting.
