MQM New York Holds an Evening With Former Advisor Umer Sharif

Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; New York; August 19, 2009: MQM New York hosted an evening in the honor of former Haq Parast Advisor to the Chief Minister Sindh, and famous Pakistani celebrity Umer Sharif, and singer Fareeha Pervez. The evening was attended by Patron-in-Chief, MQM North America, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, office bearers of MQM USA, office bearers and workers of MQM New York, office bearers of Gahwarah-e-Adab USA and Gahwarah-e-Adab New York, the members of the Advisory Committee to the MQM New York Chapter, members of Youth Wing MQM USA and Youth Wing MQM New York, and the members of the Pakistani community in large number. Umer Sharif spoke about his association with MQM and his memories of serving as an MQM advisor. He described MQM as unique and completely different from all other Pakistani political parties. MQM’s discipline and organization, he mentioned, are two of the things he is most fascinated with. He also mentioned that he loves the fact that Altaf Bhai has not changed a bit through the years; Altaf Bhai continues to be loving and caring towards all his workers and followers. Umer Sharif also described how MQM helped numerous artists in Pakistan through financial assistance without any discrimination. Throughout his speech he told various jokes that left the audience laughing non-stop. At the end of the event Member of the Central Organizing Committee, Gul Muhammad, announced the addition of Shahnawaz Khan in MQM New York Chapter as Joint in-charge of the chapter and Khalid Mehmood as member of the Advisory Committee to the MQM New York..
