MQM USA's Youth Wing held a Tsunami Relief Event in New York (feb-10-05)

On Friday, February 4th, 2005, MQM Youth Wing New York along with KKC launched a fund raising event to aid the tsunami victims. This event took place at Five Star Banquet and Restaurant. The program began with the recitation of Quran by Ansar Bhai and was followed by a series of speeches by Khalida Baji (NY Unit Incharge), Aneeba Siddiqui (USA Youth Wing Incharge), Asma Haque (NY Youth Wing Incharge), Maliha Rohail (NY Youth Wing Joint Incharge), Shabber Bhai (NJ Unit Joint Incharge) and presenters from Philadelphia Unit.
Among the chief guests were Indonesian Vice Consulate Sahadatun Donatrin, Human Rights Commission Chairman of New York Bryan Pu-Folkes, Sri Lankan Consulate representatives. A fifteen minute documentary film was shown to the audience to show relief campaign launched by MQM all over Pakistan and overseas. The event was made more special by Munni Begum's musical night and fashion show by Sadia Shuja. Geo TV, ARY, PTN and print media were present to cover this event. This program was highly appreciated by the audience and most of all by the MQM care taker of USA, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
