State of Virginia Turns the Table, AGAIN! Remarkable Victory of the Republican Bob McDonnell as Governor MQM USA Officials Congratulate the Governor-Elect
Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; Virginia, November 04, 2009: MQM USA office bearers have congratulated Virginia’s Governor-Elect Mr. Robert (Bob) McDonnell. McDonnell, a former VA state attorney general, had about 60 percent of the vote with most precincts reporting. He takes back the governor's office after eight years of Democrat control. The election largely turned on independent voters, who preferred McDonnell by nearly a 2-1 ratio over R. Creigh Deeds, exit polls showed. It was a shift from 2008, when independents in the state split about evenly between the parties. Governor elect Bob McDonnell had attended MQM USA’s annual convention that was held in Virginia last March. During the convention he not only requested MQM USA to support him but also met with MQM’s leadership including Dr. Farooq Sattar and Mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal. MQM USA has also shown its hope that the Governor-Elect Bob McDonnell will play an important role in bringing harmony, diversity, prosperity in the State of Virginia.
