MQMUSA 6th Annual Cricket Tournament Held in Philadelphia (April-13-07)

Morning of Sunday April 8^th, 2007. MQM Philadelphia unit celebrated its Sixth Annual Cricket Tournament and Picnic, which is becoming the hallmark of MQM USA’s regular yearly event. Despite of the extremely cold weather, which was nearing the freezing level, could not even keep the Haq Parast Sathis indoors. An outdoor picnic is always regarded as a favorable event within the Pakistani culture, especially if it is served with a tasty Desi style BBQ. Food was cooked to perfection and enjoyed by all the participants. 

Participants from Philadelphia, Washington, New Jersey and New York were on hand to enjoy and cheer the event. Central Organizing Committee members including Sabih Ul Islam Bhai from Virginia, Mahfooz Hydari Bhai and Arshad Hussain Bhai from Philadelphia and Chief Guest, Moeed Siddiqui Bhai from Missouri along with Special visiting guest from Pakistan Ahsan Ullah Bhai who is also the Naib Nazim of North Nazimabad Town  were also present to grace the occasion.  Among the distinguished guests, Ibad Ur Rehman Bhai from Washington DC, Arif Siddiqui and Anwar Bhai from New York, Asad Siddiqui and Arsalan Bhai from New Jersey, Joint In-Charge Youth Wing, Harris Baig Bhai along with other Youth Wing members were also present. 

The Final match was played between Philadelphia and New Jersey units. After a rigorous innings, Philadelphia unit beats the New Jersey unit by six wickets. Congratulations Philadelphia. But both sides knew the fact that winning and losing is not important but playing together as a team have a meaningful gesture, besides, winners comes out as a bi-product of the good sportsman spirit. 

A price distribution Ceremony was also conducted at the end by the Chief Guest Moeed Siddiqui Bhai along with the Special Guest Ahsan Ullah Bhai.The day was short and weather was cold, but it will be remembered till next year.
