The Target Killing has gone beyond the Political Workers to the Killing of Political Leaders
Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; Los Angeles; August 02, 2010: The Central Organizer Kamal Zafar and the members of the Central Organizing Committee MQM USA have shown their deep grief, sorrow, and intense anger on the murder of MQM’s Member Provincial Assembly Sindh Raza Haider and have demanded of the Government of Pakistan for a high level inquiry into the incident and the culprits be brought to justice soon. The MPA Raza Haider was assassinated earlier today when he was doing ablution in a mosque to join funeral prayers. In the incident the gunman of MPA and another worker of MQM from Nazimabad Mohammad Arsalan were also killed. In a statement issued today the office-bearers of MQM USA have said that the target killing in Karachi has gone beyond the murder of the political workers to the murders of the political leader and the murder of Raza Haider is a sequence of the same. They said that if the government will not take action and will not curb the tendency, then there is a grave fear of the demolition of the democratic institutions. They added that the law & order in Karachi is at the top priority for every worker of MQM and this is the reason that the workers of MQM under the instructions of the leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain don’t take the law in their hands; however, they said, those who are involved in the target killings of MQM workers and its leaders must not be mistaken by the patience of the workers of MQM and must not take this patience as the weakness of MQM. They demanded of the highest ranking law-enforcing officials, chief minister Sindh, governor of Sindh, prime minister of Pakistan, and the President of Pakistan for high level judicial inquiry into the target killings and especially of this event and bring the culprits to justice as soon as possible. They prayed for the highest abodes in paradise for the soul of MPA Raza Haider and all those who lost their lives in the target killings and at the hands of land and drug mafia. They also offered their profound condolence to the family of MPA Raza Haider, to the families of other victims, workers of MQM around the globe, and to the leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain.
