Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui Delivered Speech At Annual Convention Of APPNA
On June 30, 2007 APPNA (All Pakistan Physicians of North America) held a big forum and the topic was Pakistan’s Future in Democracy and Justice. This event was in conjunction with the Annual convention of APPNA which had taken place in Orlando, FL.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui represented the stance of MQM on these topics; this forum was also attended by Mrs. Bushra Aitazaz Ahsan, Mr.Iqbal Khalil, Dr. Manzoor Ejaz, Ali Zaidi, Ahsan Iqbal, MNA Farooq Amjad and Hasan Abbas.
Although the time was very limited but Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui delivered a very fiery and thought provoking speech, in which he explained that the only way a true and proper democracy can be sustained if the seats are given to ordinary people from middle class families as their main objective will be for the betterment of the general public, whereas leaders from the elite class will always have their personal objectives. He also pressed the point that till we don’t get rid off Jagirdars and feudalism from our society, it will be very difficult to have a proper democracy and justice. He emphasized the point that how MQM as a party of common people has always given seats to its ordinary workers who have excelled in their delivery and are always focused for the improvement of common people. The crowd appreciated Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s comments and gave a very loud applaud. The speeches were followed by questions and answers session.
