June 11, 2008: Formation of APMSO 30 years ago by a youth has played the pivotal role in the formation of a political movement, MQM, which ultimately has proved to be the final refuge for the common men and all oppressed of Pakistan. This was said by Nigraan e Aala MQM North America, Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, while addressing to a Pan-American Telephonic Conference held by MQM USA on the instance of 30th Foundation Day of APMSO tonight. This telephonic conference was attended by the members of Central Organizing Committee, MQM USA, members of the Central Helping Committee, MQM USA, Unit In-charges, members of Unit Committees, and members of all social, cultural, literary and sports wings of MQM USA. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui further said that contrary to the usual phenomenon, in this case the youths gave birth to their elders. He was referring to the fact that the APMSO was a youth organization which formed MQM which seeped and penetrated in the mainstream of Pakistani politics. He further added that 30 years ago when Quaid e Tehreek, a youth of only 24 years of age, was putting the foundation of APMSO, even his closest allies did not have the certainty that this youth organization will flourish. But this was Quaid e Tehreek's vision that this youth organization not only flourished, it gave birth to a movement which prevailed and became an ultimate shelter for the subjugated majority of Pakistan. He said that Quaid e Tehreek was a born leader, nonetheless, to nurture this type of vision in his self, the worker of MQM has to negate his own self. He said that Quaid e Tehreek has produced innumerable workers who knew how to live for the achievement of collective goals while negating their individual self. Mr. Mateen Yousuf, Former Chairman of APMSO and former Deputy Mayor of Karachi also spoke at the telephonic conference and shared the early days of APMSO with the members of Youth Wing MQM USA who were also attending the conference.
