Inauguration of Sindh Minister for Trade and Industry Rauf Siddiqui’s Book “History of Kaaba” Hosted by Karachi Club New York
Communication & Media Cell, MQM USA; New York; August 05; 2010: Karachi Club New York hosted the inauguration ceremony for the book “The History of Kaaba” by MQM’s Sindh Minister for Trade & Industry Rauf Siddiqui last Saturday at a local hotel. The Minister of Trade & Industry Sindh Rauf Siddiqui has been on an official visit of USA these days. The speakers at the event included the President Karachi Club New York Aslam Baig, The Secretary, Karachi Club New York Anis Siddiqui, the author of the book Rauf Siddiqui, well-known poets, writers, critics, journalists, and elites of the Pakistani community, and also included Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the former federal minister and Patron-in-Chief MQM North America as a keynote speaker. While the event was attended by the office-bearers and workers of MQM New York, office bearers of MQM USA, and office bearers and workers of the subsidiaries of MQM USA working in New York, the event was also attended by the members of the Pakistani community from tri-state area in a large number. Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said in his keynote speech that the author of the book has spent major part of his life living close to the House of Allah and has immense attachment to this sacred House. He also said that Mr. Rauf Siddiqui is an avid researcher on history and especially when it comes to the history of the places of the Islamic origin. The author of the book said that he wrote this book in the cause of Allah and he did not expect any rewards form the public. While referring to the burning of girls school in Swat and FATA by Taliban, he said that education is the pivotal factor in the uplifting of a human society and those who deter the women and girls and deprive them of this right are actually burying them six feet under, and that’s what used to happen in the dark ages before Islam. The other speakers said that the book is an authentic paper on the history of the House of Allah and it shows the insight and depth of the knowledge of the author in this subject as well as the love he has for this House.
