Haleem Feast In Los Angeles

Karachi Club (LA) in collaboration with MQM Los Angeles unit hosted its Annual event. A special Haleem cookout for the Pakistani Community.

The Haleem event is the first of the few specials lined up to celebrate Silver Jubilee of MQM. Talk of the town, and most waited community gathering attracted people from all walks of life. Despite the wet and unsettled weather conditions and more rain in the forecast, Angelinos turned with usual fervor.

Several prominent community members graced the occasion, including the very popular Mr. Syed Ibne Abbas, the Consul General of Pakistan accompanied by Mr. Ahsan Wagan, Vice Consul in Los Angeles who freely mingles with the crowd. He was visibly happy to see a large outpour of community members to attend the gathering, and appreciated the efforts of Karachi Club members in organizing the Haleem.

Karachi Club, a twin organization of LA unit, has organized several community gatherings over the years but the Haleem in the month of Muharram is the most popular event that is eagerly awaited throughout the year. The delicious dish is served in the best traditions to the delight of the community members.

Members of Karachi Club and workers of MQM LA unit are thankful to the community for their support in embarking on Silver Jubilee celebrations of MQM. To continue with the Silver Jubilee fervor the Los Angeles unit will endeavor to hold a Cricket Tournament in the month of February.
